Three manuscript versions of the historical novel, MEN OF NO PROPERTY, with notebooks and index cards containing research notes. Also manuscripts of the following novels: THE PALE BETRAYER, 1965; BLACK SHEEP, WHITE LAMB, 1963; A GENTLE MURDERER, 1951; THE CLAY HAND, 1950; THE JUDAS CAT, 1949; and THE EVENING OF THE GOOD SAMARITAN, 1961. Included for the latter title are sections on revisions and notes on characters. Manuscripts of the following short stories: "Home to the Hills," 1963; "Spring Fever," 1951; "The Purple is Everything," 1964; and "Sweet William," 1954. Manuscript for an unproduced play, "Cry of Winter," with marginal comments and letters by Clifford Odets, 1965. Manuscripts and correspondence relating to reviews appearing in the NEW REPUBLIC of works by Simenon and Josephine Tey.

Josephine Tey (b. Elizabeth MacKintosh, 25 July 1896, Inverness, Scotland–d. 13 February 1952, London, England) was a Scottish author best known for her mystery novels.
